Ancient Civilizations of the Middle East
To cover the information in Chapter 2: Western Asia and Egypt you will create a group presentation about one of the Middle East's ancient civilizations. You and your group will be responsible for reading about your civilization in the book and creating a presentation to deliver that information to the rest of the class. You must complete the requirements listed below.
Requirements:
- Your group must read the section of the book that covers your civilization and summarize the information.
- You must create a powerpoint presentation that summarizes the information.
- Included the beginning and end dates for your civilization.
- Describe the following characteristics:
- Political - how was their government organized, who was in charge and why.
- Social - what social classes did they have and how did they determine social status.
- Economic - how did they trade and establish markets.
- Religious - what beliefs did they have and how was religion practiced.
- Any major achievements of your civilization (buildings, discoveries, social changes, etc.)
- Your powerpoint should include text and pictures.
- Your presentation cannot exceed 5 minutes in length.
Grading:
Project is worth 30 points
You will be graded on how well you fulfill the above requirements and how well you present the information.
All group members must participate in the presentation.
